BEAGLES SEIZED BY SPCA

Click on a beagle on the right to find out more about  that particular dog >>

Houston Beagle and Hound Rescue has taken in 5 male beagles who were part of a seizure due to a cruelty/neglect case which involved emaciated hunting dogs and horses. The Houston SPCA was awarded the animals by court decree after an extensive investigation. The case will be featured on a future segment of Animal Cops Houston on the Animal Planet Channel.

Houston Beagle and Hound Rescue was asked to rescue 5 beagles who were practically down to "skin and bones", but in the true beagle spirit are still friendly and upbeat little souls.

HBHR will be providing a lot of healthcare, dental cleanings, TLC, training, food & treats, dental cleanings and heartworm treatments when the boys are strong enough. Each heartworm treatment costs $250 so we are seeking donations to help with all these expenses. Please consider assisting us to help these guys!

We will be looking forward to the taping of a follow-up sequel by the Animal Planet crew when the beagles will be brought together for a reunion with their pack after they are healthy and adoptable!

The Animal Planet follow-up filming was on November 12th.  We are told the segment will air on Animal Cops Houston in Spring of 2008.

The photo on the left was taken the day of the Animal Planet filming.  Click on the image to zoom in.  The dogs, from left to right, are:  Romo, Scout, Mickey, Bart and Hobbes (who was being "shy").

HBHR volunteers also found out from the camera crew that before being rescued by the Houston SPCA, ALL FIVE beagles were crammed into one small cage together.  The cage was elevated, and they only had chainlink fence to stand on.  Not to mention no food and water!  It's amazing how forgiving and well-adjusted these boys are.
