We never want to turn away a beagle with critical medical or behavioral problems from our foster program, but these issues can make adoption nearly impossible. You may ask why we take in beagles that end up being unadoptable or require long-term intervention before adoption. Unfortunately, we can’t always evaluate the special needs of these dogs before admission due to the emergency situation they are in, or their behavioral problems don’t show up until later.
While you may not be able to adopt another dog into your home or provide a foster home for one, you can help one of these special beagles by committing to a monthly donation to their wellness care. We will send you updates and pictures of your sponsored beagle periodically.
To participate in the Sponsor a Beagle program, contact us at info@houstonbeaglerescue.org. If you already know which beagle you want to sponsor, please include the name and your contact information in the email or we can help match you with a deserving beagle.

Shop at Kroger or Randalls
Kroger and Randall’s grocery stores have “share” programs where you can designate HBHR as a charity to receive funds, just for shopping at the store!
To help HBHR via the Kroger program, visit the Kroger Community Rewards site, scroll down to “Texas” and click the “Enroll Now” button. Once you are signed up you will see a “Community Rewards” section where you can enter/search for your charity. If Houston Beagle Rescue doesn’t come up, make sure that “Animals” is selected in the “View by Type” drop down box on the right. HBHR’s member number is: BA708 . Last year Kroger card donations earned HBHR approximately $800! Thanks to everyone who used the cards to help us raise this well-needed funding!

Legacy Giving
Your will or trust is a flexible way to give. Just a simple provision in your will or revocable trust provides for the beagles who need your help.
Gifting through your will or trust allows you the flexibility of specifying a dollar amount or a particular asset, such as real estate or stock. It also allows you to donate either a percentage or the remainder of your estate.
For your convenience, some suggested language is provided below to use in your will or trust. We always advise you to work with your attorney to adapt this language to fit your individual situation.
Suggested wording to include: “I give, devise and bequeath to Houston Beagle and Hound Rescue, Inc. the sum of _____ or _____ % of the residue of my estate in support of its general purposes.”
