Payton has an unusually heartwarming story – she was brought into Harris County Animal Control in labor and approximately ten years old. The kindly vet at Harris County performed a cesarean to save her life. Her story was read by a veterinarian in Tennessee who immediately offered to adopt Payton and have her flown there. She felt that such a dog would need extra vet care and she was the one to do it. Payton and her adopted beagle brother now accompany their mom to work every day and beg for treats in the break room!
